Purpose of Job:

The Content Editor is part of the QA/Content Team, responsible for proofreading and editing all client projects, following established brand and style guidelines, and occasionally providing support on Studio and agency projects. Other duties may include creating, maintaining, and managing copy decks and other reference documents, data asset management, minor writing tasks, archiving.

An ideal candidate works closely with colleagues in Studio and across departments, using their excellent language, critical thinking, organizational and interpersonal skills to ensure projects are up to the highest possible standard in a friendly, calm, and professional manner.

  • Check and maintain the quality of all projects entering and leaving Studio
  • Fulfil requests for proofreading/editing/review of copy decks, PDFs, JPGs, digital banners, etc. in a timely manner
  • Enforce brand and agency guidelines, standards, and style with a strong understanding of the unique brand voice and tone required
  • Create and maintain copy decks, reference documents, templates, and guides
  • Organize, prioritize, manage and be accountable for assigned tasks from multiple Project Managers
  • Address client and internal feedback on projects
  • Attend and actively participate in meetings as assigned
  • Make Content Team Lead and PM aware of any issues with deadlines/scope of work/other issues, raising concerns as soon as possible
  • Edit and proofread other ad hoc content moving through the agency
  • Proofread French (French proficiency an asset, but not required)
  • Upload assets to Data Asset Management/Content Management Systems
  • Occasional tasks: writing, archiving, supporting on backend work for digital banners (knowledge of coding languages not required)

Education and Experience: 

  • Degree in English/Languages/Writing/Communications or related field
  • Experience in editing/proofreading
  • Knowledge of French an asset
  • Proficient in/able to pick up Word, Excel/Sheets, PPT, Outlook, Microsoft Teams, Jira
  • Basic understanding of print and digital production/design principles an asset
  • Agency experience an asset
  • Basic knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop an asset
