Purpose of Job: 

Copywriter will focus on brand and retail automotive and are responsible for developing breakthrough creative concepts across multiple disciplines, with digital at the forefront and executing to the highest level. Responsible for developing breakthrough creative concepts across multiple disciplines, with digital at the forefront and executing to the highest level. Must help maintain the agency’s standards of creative excellence, timeliness, and profitability, while achieving the clients’ goals. An experienced presenter being able to effectively communicate ideas to an audience.

 Key Accountabilities:

  • Create concepts and write copy for all advertising mediums, digital first and foremost, including banner ads, digital content, print ads, brochures, Web sites, TV spots
  • Ability to present ideas and concepts to clients
  • Oversee the production phase
  • Brainstorm ideas with other members of the creative teams
  • Ensuring that our high quality of creative is upheld, maintaining consistently high standards for him/herself and others on the team
  • Participate in the new business efforts with Account Directors and other strategic agency leads.
  • Collaborating and contributing to the creative process with all members of the business team
  • Listening, asking, hearing, prioritizing, and translating client, marketing goals and information into strategic brand concepts

Skills and Behaviour:

  • Ability to write clever, persuasive copy that sells every client’s product or service
  • Brainstorm ideas and possible angles for a client’s ad materials
  • Meet tight deadlines
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, with often unspecified hours
  • Strong command of the English language
  • Develop original ideas for ad campaigns
  • Detail-oriented
  • Ability to work with Graphic Designers, Account Executives and occasionally with client to move the projects from concept to completion. 
  • Must be able to manage from concept to completion of the projects with strong leadership throughout the production process of TV, Print and Digital

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, communications, advertising, marketing or public relations.
  • Brand experience is a bonus, but not essential

OTHER:

  • 1 to 2 years of relevant experience
  • Automotive brand experience is an extra-bonus
